It's very easy! There are TWO drop down menus:

1) Our Design (photo 1) | We've already designed the graphics/message. Slight variations/customizations at no additional cost, e.g., change of name or date. Please select "Custom (# of words)" if a font change is desired.
2) Custom (# of words) | Your custom message using 1 of our standard fonts and up to 2 symbols.
3) Custom Image | Simple images that need processing by us, which includes actual handwriting, child's drawing, simple logos, etc. Please note that there is an 8 word limit.
If more engraving is desired or your image is very complex, please contact us for a quote.
Note: If you'd like another image/message from our shop on this particular piece, please feel free to select Option 1 if the item sizes are similar. We've already designed it for you, there's no need to pay extra. Please copy the link of desired layout from our shop during checkout and paste in the notes to seller during checkout.

CUSTOMIZE -- PLEASE READ

This is the base price for graphics we've already designed (slight variations/customizations allowed will be stated in the listing, e.g., change of name or date). If a font changed is desired, please select "Custom (# of words)", as this requires additional set-up time. To check out, please leave instructions and information in the NOTES section in your shopping cart. We will design your item as shown in the first image of the listing, e.g., if the first image shows all letters in UPPERCASE, we will design your item in all UPPERCASE, even if the note is left as “Elisa”. Some fonts are only available in all uppercase or all lowercase. If you would like to change the case from what is shown in the first image, a clear message must be left saying "keep font case as left in notes". If additional personalization is selected (e.g., on the back of an item), we will carry over our design to match the front if a design is not shown (for the back). We copy and paste your notes, so be sure to double check spelling.
2. CUSTOMIZED (USING STANDARD FONTS)
This is a custom message of your choice using the 1 of the standard fonts and symbols (limit 2) in the listing. Examples: If personalization on "Front & Back" is chosen and "Custom (1-8 words)" is selected, then you may have 1-8 words on EACH side. Choosing "Front Only" for engraving side and "Custom (1-8 words)" does not work for 3 words on the front and 5 words on the back, as this increases set-up time for us. To check out, please leave instructions in the NOTES section in your shopping cart with exact words and case (we will copy and paste as is), so if you do "jgd" in lowercase, we will engrave it in lowercase unless specifically requested otherwise.
If you are particular about your design, please be very specific in the NOTES section at checkout as to how you want it to read or look (e.g., as in photo, centered, top bottom, justified to the left or right, etc.). If it's not specified, we will set it up as in the photos or at our discretion. We design each item with a both an artistic and a critical eye to ensure you are getting a well-designed piece. You can always attach a photo of your requested layout.
Proofs are available for purchase below, as this does slow down our production time. If no proof is purchased and one is requested, we will move forward with your order without any prior communication.

These are simple images that need processing by us, which includes actual handwriting, child's drawing, simple logos, etc. Please note that there is an 8 word limit. If more engraving is desired or your image is very complex, please contact us for a quote.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING IMAGES: To use your own image for your order, “Contact the Shop” using Etsy’s email system after purchase. Please upload an image or photo by attaching the image for your order using the "attach image" button. Please keep words, phrases, and/or characters within the limit listed. We will move the words around so they will fit onto your piece, but we will not alter any of the words/images themselves. NOTE ABOUT IMAGES: The clearer the image, the better the result. When sending photos, note that the bigger the image, the better the quality and result of your product. High quality images are your best option, yet we can still mark any image given to us. Well lit images without shadows work the best. A regular ink pen will give a thinner line, while Sharpies and wide tip markers will give a thicker/bolder result. We will contact you, if for some reason, we are unable to process your image.
Custom artwork and special graphics will only be engraved on one side. Special graphics are any designs not listed in the symbols or standard fonts images.
If engraving for front and back are chosen, but there are no specifications as to what is to be engraved on the back, it will be left blank.
Monograms: Traditionally, a monogram has the last name initial as larger in the middle with first name initial to the left and middle name initial to the right. Please leave initials in the order you would like them engraved and indicate which initial should be larger than the other two. If no initial is specified as larger, then we will just make all the initials the same size.

EXTRAS
*DIGITAL PROOF
We are quite particular about the overall aesthetics of our designs. We design each piece as though it were for ourselves. That being said, if you are also quite particular and would like to see a mock-up of your item/items, please purchase a proof for EACH item.
Please check your email frequently for your proof and respond within 24 hours of receiving your proof. We will move forward with your order 24 hours after the initial proof was sent if we do not hear back from you within this time. We don't want to delay your order.

*As each item is custom and produced uniquely for you, refunds and exchanges are not available, but please reach out to us if you are not happy with your purchase.

In the special event that we do accept a return, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. Please contact us for a return at aradesignsco@gmail.com. Do NOT just send the item back. Please be sure to pack the item carefully. Refunds are for the purchase price of the item minus a 10% restocking fee. We do NOT refund shipping costs. Returns will be processed in approximately 2-3 weeks.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLATED PIECES
Surgical grade stainless steel may contain some nickel, but is generally considered hypoallergenic for most people. Stainless steel jewelry is harder than silver and doesn’t tarnish, rust or require a lot of special care, however it can scratch.
In order to extend the life of your plated pieces, do not wear in the swimming pool, the beach, or in the shower. Remove jewelry when sleeping, exercising, or doing other physically strenuous activities, as prolonged contact with sweat will cause the plating to wear away faster. In addition, avoid contact with perfumes, body oils, and other chemicals, including household cleaners. Never use chemical jewelry cleaners as these will wear away at the plating and do more harm than good. Wash by dipping a soft, lint-free cloth in warm soapy water, and then gently wipe. Dry well with a clean cloth. Store in a cool dry place.
